We serve over 5,000 customers directly through our internal sales organization, as well as through long-standing relationships with medical device distributors and strategic partners. We also serve as the contracted manufacturing partner for other medical device firms.

A History of Innovation

Though our product portfolio has changed throughout our 50-year history, our goal to provide healthcare professionals with the tools they need to improve efficacy, efficiency and outcomes remains the same. Here are a few recent highlights from our journey.
1972
Argon was founded as a guidewire manufacturer. The company got its name because argon gas is used in the process of tipping some guidewires. Over time, Argon adds fluid management and convenience tray product lines before restructuring and refocusing in 2009.
2009
Argon Medical is purchased by Roundtable Healthcare Partners and shifts its company's strategic focus to physician-preference products for interventional procedures.
2010
Argon Medical acquires Becton Dickinson's critical care business and PICC business.
2011
Argon licenses the Cleaner Rotational Thrombectomy System from Rex Medical Cleaner.
2012
Argon licenses the Option IVC Filter from Rex Medical Option.
2013
Argon acquires the interventional business from AngioTech Interventional, adding the BioPince, Supercore, and Tru-core soft-tissue biopsy devices and SKATER drainage catheters to the product portfolio. Argon adds manufacturing facilities in Wheeling, IL, and Rochester, NY.
2014
Argon acquires US Biopsy and adds the TLAB transjugular liver biopsy set to the portfolio.
2015
Argon purchases the OptionELITE IVC filter, the Cleaner Rotational Thrombectomy Systems and the UltraStream Dialysis Catheter from Rex Medical.
2018
Argon launches the BioPince Ultra full-core biopsy instrument.
2021
Argon launches the Scorpion Portal Access Sets and the Halo Single-Loop Snare portfolio. Argon also acquires mold manufacturer Matrex in Portage, WI.
2023
Argon launches the SuperCore Advantage Semi-Automatic Biopsy Instrument and the Kodiak™ Dual Port Coaxial Introducer Kit.
